NYC Tourism is Harlem Tourism
At the core of Community Board 10, Harlem is a diverse and densely populated neighborhood recognized as one of the world’s major cultural centers. Its iconic roots in entertainment, Southern cuisine, and social impact continue to attract both local and international visitors. Through tourism, communities thrive by sustaining local businesses, economic development, and long-term financial growth.

SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH TOURISM
MUSEUM ROW EXPERIENCE
The Harlem Museum Row is a visionary cultural tourism initiative designed to connect Harlem's museums, historic institutions, performance venues, galleries, and heritage landmarks into one unified visitor experience. Centered around an iconic corridor of 125th street, the route would celebrate Harlem's global legacy in art, music, literature, civil rights, fashion, and Black excellence.

Inspired by successful destination models such as Museum Mile, located on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan, Harlem's Museum Row would encourage visitors to explore multiple attractions in one trip, increasing tourism revenue for local restaurants, retailers, hotels, and small businesses. In-turn transforming Harlem from a visit to a full day destination cultural experience while preserving and amplifying the neighborhood's rich history.

The route would feature destinations such as The Hip-Hop Museum, National Black Theatre, Urban Civil Rights Museum, The Studio Museum and The Fashion Museum of Harlem

A GROWING LANDSCAPE
With the advent of the 2nd avenue subway line and proposed westward extension across 125th street to Broadway, together, these component's create cross town commuter-pedestrian traffic, building long-term financial stability for residents while keeping economic benefits within the community. By establishing a destination venue that gathers community and collaborates with it's museum neighbors, the Museum Row Experience is sure to usher in a new age of optimism.
